Why does my SodaStream MIX™ Sparkling Drink Maker not carbonating properly?

The SodaStream MIX™ Sparkling Drink Maker is compatible with ALL SodaStream plastic carbonating bottles

Insert the carbonating bottle properly:

1. Make sure the Release Dial is in the “Unlocked” position and the Overflow Tank is tilted towards you.
2. Insert the Carbonating Bottle Neck into the Snap-Lock System and push it ALL THE WAY UP.
3. While pushing the Carbonating Bottle up, tilt the Carbonating Bottle towards the sparkling drink maker. The Snap-Lock system will hold the bottle in place.
   ! A gap between the Carbonating Bottle and the base indicates a proper installation.

4. Turn the Release Dial clockwise to lock the Carbonating Bottle in place.

1. Firmly push the Carbonation Button all the way down, hold for 1 second, and release.
2. Repeat as desired: 1-2 times for low fizz; 3-4 times for medium fizz; 5-6 times for strong fizz*. Wait 5 seconds before you proceed.

* Carbonating non-water drinks or carbonating with smaller Carbonating Bottles may require less presses Please, follow the Fizz level recommendation according to the size of the used Carbonating Bottle.

• WARNING! Do not remove plastic Carbonating Bottle until the CO2 Release Dial is in the “Unlocked” position. Never force the plastic Carbonating Bottle out of the Snap-Lock system. Always allow the Sparkling Drink Maker to release the plastic Carbonating Bottle. If the plastic Carbonating Bottle is not immediately released from the Snap-Lock system check that the Release dial is in the Unlocked position.
• Attempting to remove the plastic Carbonating Bottle while it is still pressurized can cause uncontrolled ejection of the plastic Carbonating Bottle and may result in serious injury.

To check if you are out of CO2, first make sure the SodaStream CO2 Quick Connect cylinder is properly inserted in the cylinder compartment:

1. Pull open the Back Cover. 
2. Raise the cylinder handle all the way up.
3. Insert the Quick Connect CO2 Cylinder, bottom first. 
4. Lower the handle all the way down, until there’s a ‘click’ sound.
5. Push the carbonation button all the way down a few times and see if CO2 is entering the carbonating bottle.
6. Return the Back Cover.
