What to do if the cylinder handle is not going completely down after I insert the cylinder?

If the handle in the back is not going completely down, do not attempt to enforce it down. First, check to make sure you are using the correct CO2 cylinder. The correct CO2 cylinder which is compatible with the SodaStream MIX™ Sparkling Drink Maker is the SodaStream CO2 Quick Connect cylinder with the Pink seal and cap.

  • The SodaStream Screw-in system Cylinder with the Blue seal will NOT work in that case.

To properly insert the cylinder, follow the next steps:

  1. Always remove the Carbonating Bottle from the SodaStream MIX™ BEFORE installing the Quick Connect CO2 Cylinder!
    Rotate the Release Dial to the “Unlocked” position, pull the Carbonating Bottle towards you and remove.

  2. Remove the seal from the Quick Connect CO2 Cylinder and pull off the cap. 
  3. Pull open the Back Cover. 
  4. Raise the Cylinder Handle all the way up.
  5. Insert the Quick Connect CO2 Cylinder, bottom first.
  6. Lower the Cylinder Handle all the way down for a quick connect. 
  7. Return the Back Cover.
